According to me, how to write effective Facebook ads Not only is it that you post an introductory article about a product or service and hope it will attract the attention of others. In fact, to create a successful ad on Facebook or other platforms such as Pinterest, Instagram, … you need to understand who the target audience is and what they need …
It is also necessary to know how to take advantage of the powerful targeting tools of these advertising platforms as well.
I often go to social networks, specifically Facebook, to study new information every day. I browse the feeds to read new news and see photos related to SEO and marketing. And I am sure that not only I but also there are more than 2.38 billion people who are using and operating on Facebook every month. And it’s also the reason that advertisers are always looking to this platform to market and promote products and services.
But writing ads on Facebook in 2024 – 2025 is different. As conventional natural approaches are no longer effective, and almost every advertiser wants their content to deliver the highest conversions. The final solution is that the advertiser needs to apply a good, effective way to write ads on Facebook to get interest and trust from customers.

From my experience, I can tell you that creating a successful ad requires a lot of combinations of targeting the right audience, engaging images or videos, and content that is truly engaging. And to do that well, you can refer to how to write a good ad that I will introduce in this article.
💡 Advertising writing is a narrow branch of content; grasp overall content picture before will help your ads have more depth.
What is a copywriting pitch?
Advertising is the process of creating and writing content with the aim of attracting attention and persuading potential customers to act in a specific way that advertisers want. The goal of conversion after the ad templates is usually to buy a product, rent a service or simply participate in an activity.
The content of your ad can take many different forms, such as articles, emails, titles, product descriptions, videos, or even regular posts on social media.
The main goal that an advertising template needs to create is to convey a message in a concise, attractive and easy to understand. At the same time, it must also stimulate the reader to be interested and motivated to do a positive action, maybe a purchase.
An advertising article will consist of three basic parts:
- Attractive headlines to grab instant attention
- Content should be clear and easy to understand to introduce products / services in a simple but convincing way
- Call to action (CTA) helps encourage the reader to take immediate action.

There are many areas to apply the running of advertising, be it online sales, communications, email marketing, Facebook advertising, Google advertising, Pinterest, …
How to write a conversion ad?
Every copywriter has different experience and ways of optimizing an ad, but they want the most effective conversion results. So do I! Check out some tips to make your ad more engaging.
1. Show readers how you will solve their problems
With years of writing, I’ve noticed that many businesses are just trying to “focus on keywords” instead of exploring the “usefulness” of their content.
Although keywords are really essential, it will not be as important as how to make your ad stand out and attract readers. To do this well, even from the title of the ad should reflect the ultimate goal that customers receive.
Try putting yourself in the user’s shoes and you’ll see that they’ll click on the ad believing it will be helpful to help solve their problem.
Therefore, instead of just using keywords is not enough, but also how to help your headline focus on the solution that you will bring to your customers (readers).
For example: If you’re writing an ad for the book – selling magnet, do n’t talk too much about your service , Instead, focus on your customers’ goals or what they need
Try this headline: “Sell your book and start making money today“.
Analyze the example:
- Approach: His ads are not just “Book sales“, which is to address the customer’s goals:”monetize books“. It was used in a campaign to link authors to their own service printing studios.
- Why it works: Viewers feel this ad brings immediate real value because it helps them make money instead of just advertising the service “selling books” in a generic way.
- Competitiveness of advertising headlines: While the market has a lot of similar services, focusing on your ultimate goal of making money will help your ad title stand out from the crowd of competitors out there.
2. Write ads that need to have emotional triggers
Often, users do not always have a clear purpose when visiting websites or clicking on an ad on Google Ads or on Facebook. According to research, the unconscious actions that occur to internet users are many and this is often influenced by their curiosity and emotions at the time.
So if you can create a headlinea content that causes strong emotional reactions then they will attracted and… ActionsIn other words, people often make decisions not only based on reason but also influenced by emotions.
For example: I will write an advertisement for a plastic surgery service as follows:
"Back to youthful skin and more confident. Do not let wrinkles rob you of your youth any more!"
Analyze examples:
- His approach: This ad not only talks about plastic surgery services but also hits on the feelings of anxiety about age and insecurity of customers.
- Why do I think it works?: It solves an emotional problem that many potential customers may be facing such as anxiety about appearance and a great need for confidence.
- Stimulate Action: When customers feel anxious about a change in their appearance, they may be stimulated to act immediately to find solutions to help them get rid of that fear.
3. Don’t talk about features – focus on benefits
Another experience I’ve had in writing ads that I’ve “experienced” is the four words “customer benefit.”
Do n’t just talk about how great your product is, how it’s made, blah blah blah, but show your audience how it will help them, how their lives will improve when they have the product you offer.
Make your ads personalized, practical, and focus on the benefits your customers will get.
My example: “Save 5% on your pet insurance premium but always ensure the best medical care at all times, anywhere”This is how you write an ad for a pet insurance product.
Analyze examples:
- This ad focuses on benefits that customers will get explicitly such as: Cost saving, guarantee care at all times, everywhere.
- Instead of “Insurance” which is the product that needs to be advertised, I will talk about the benefits customers and their pets enjoy from the insurance product.
- This ad uses the word “you” to make it more personal to the customer and help them realize that this product is what they “must need“.
4. FOMO (Fear of Missing Out)
The word “FOMO” may sound a little new to you, but it’s the fourth “writing tip” I want to mention. This is a very effective way to influence customer emotions and psychology that you can apply to your ads.
FOMO is about inspiring fear of missing an opportunity, which can motivate users to take action more quickly. This is a powerful psychological tactic that you can apply to make your ads more effective and convert more quickly.
The FOMO tactic is not new, you can find it in most ads that have a “countdown timer” with Attractive offers and… Urgent time.
For example: “50% off on orders Only for 24h for all TV products! Only 5 pcs at this price. Quickly place an order before the end“.
Analyze examples:
- The ad uses the supply (with 24 hours left) and scarcity (with 5 left) to motivate customers to take immediate action.
- Feeling missed (FOMO) will motivate customers to feel they must act now or they will lose the opportunity.
- The fear of missing out on a special offer with a “good price” makes customers quickly make a purchase decision without having to go through a long thought period.
The most effective way to write an advertisement can encapsulate some basic characteristics as follows:
- Write ads that focus on the solution your product/service offers to customers instead of just “growing” on your product.
- Advertising content (Photos, Videos, Articles” you need to stimulate the customer’s emotions in a positive way to create connections and move faster.
- Urgency is essential to prompting customers to act immediately.
With some of this experience, you will be able to write attractive, accessible ads and motivate consumers to act more effectively. However, each advertising platform will have some different characteristics so it is necessary to flexibly use the media to suit each different advertising campaign.
For Google Ads, I see that just applying the above 4 elements well is already a “delicious” advertising article. But with Google will be a little different! You refer below!
How to write effective Facebook ads
How to write effective Facebook ads is similar to the above. You need to focus on clearly conveying the benefits of your product or service to the right target audience. Besides, use easy-to-understand language with clear calls to action and appropriate images. Finally, measure efficiency and optimize for better improvement.
Here are some of his experiences:

Research, identify and write ads for the right target to reach
With the ads’ Facebook ads add-on features, reaching your target audience is easy, but it’s harder to identify the right audience. You need to do a lot of research to find the target “customer profile” that your ads need to serve.
The factors to identify can be women or men, what their age is, what their interests are, what their problems are, … Write the ad as if you are talking to a single personThat’s the person you need to attract.
Different articles should be written for different audiences
You should not write ads that are aimed at everyone, as conversions are very low. Create ads that are tailored to the interests and needs of each specific group of people.
Advertisement images, videos and contents must be consistent
If the ad content you write does not match the image, it will make users confused, so you can skip that ad template. Identify the video, image, text with the message when writing Facebook ads.
Call to action should be clear
Every ad needs a clear call to action (CTA). The most common words used for CTAs are “Buy Now”, “Sign Up Now” or “Learn More”, … These words have the effect of stimulating quick action and suggesting customers (users) know what they will need to do next.
Write a brief ad and focus on the message the customer receives
The content you use when you run the ad should clarify the value of your product or service. Do not be too long, be simple and focus on the benefits that users will receive.
Language used must be easy to understand
The language used when advertising must be easy to understand to suit all users that the campaign targets. Besides the language, the writing must also be easy to understand, easy to read, friendly as if you are talking and consulting, introducing a customer who does not have much knowledge about the product.
Advertising needs data
Using specific numbers when writing ads will help customers have a better impression. If there is a promotion, it is recommended to include numbers such as “30% discount, 40%, …” or “Buy 1 get 1”, “Buy 3 get 2”, etc.
To improve advertising better, it is recommended to acquire the feelings from others
It’s really hard to spot some of your mistakes on your own and so is advertising. Try asking for the opinion of people around you such as colleagues, friends or outsiders to have a more objective view.
Try with different versions of Facebook ads
Facebook currently allows advertisers to experiment with different versions of ads to determine which one is more effective. Always try and change to improve advertising effectiveness with elements such as text, call to action to find the best version.
The formula of writing ads that I often apply
To write effective advertising articles, you can apply the AIDA formula (Attention – Interest – Desire – Action). This is one of the most famous advertising methods and has proven to be very effective over time.
It has been used for nearly a hundred years but is still effective and is being used by advertising writers internationally and in Vietnam.

💡 Effective advertising post is almost always based on a formula: AIDA to lead or PAS to provoke pain.
End of life
The key to writing an effective copy is not just creating an engaging message, but ensuring that it meets the needs and desires of your target audience. To do this well, your copywriter needs to understand your potential customers, emphasize the benefits of your product, use easy to understand language, and create actionable elements that will increase your conversions and help you reach your advertising goals.
The above are some personal experiences from real life that I want to share to everyone (readers/supporters). Hope that this content will be useful to you. Wish you success and create effective advertising campaigns!
